Denmark part 2: Showing off to students and politicians

-So what is that? An electric car?
We have just completed our first 65 KM strech of our 180KM trip to Grenaa from Frederikshavn and the ferry in Hals Egense is ready to take us over a river. An EV is always a head turner and this time is no different

In our last post we left you with a cliffhanger of possible failure to complete our 180KM long trip down to Grenaa. We apologize for that, because the trip turned out to be as undramatic as it could possibly get. The Danish topography is very forgiving when it comes to EV's and we made it down with 15% left on the battery:

All we can serve you with is a nice picture of powerplantflirts from the trip. But, when it comes to what happened when we first made it down there, it gets more interesting. Read more after:

As an ev-evangelist I alway use every opportunity I get to show off the car I have at my disposal, and I thought the Mayor of the county we were visiting would appreciate that.

The county of Norddjurs has already started a big push towards bioethanol with the construction of a local plant and when the Mayor turned the keys of our Think City for the first time, new horizons where opened instantly.

- I am very suprised as to how much car there is in this vehicle, Mayor Torben Jensen explains to the local press - It is really zippy and it handles the hills nearby very good. This is something that would be perfect for our seniorcare home call services but also for some of the research initiatives that we have on renewable energy.

- One thing is for sure and that is that I wont let my better half try it, because then she would definetly beg to get one!

After some time we had to head home for dinner and we promised to keep in touch with the mayor so that an order could be finalized through the right channels later on, and I was ready to start my vacation, leaving activism work out of my head.

That is until 2 days later when an opportunity presented itself to show the car off to some of the students of Aarhus College and as you can see below the students quickly found a liking to the concept:
