Electric Buddy stops an 80 ton heavy freight-train

Neptune Network has stopped the freight-train of Sydvaranger Mines in Kirkenes, Norway. The action started on Monday because the mine is illegally polluting a salmon-fjord, Bøkfjorden with a toxic chemical called Magnafloc LT37. The blockade will not stop until the pollution stops.

The Pollutionathority has publicly stated that this is an illegal use of chemicals but has given the the mine almost 3 months to make the case that the chemicals are not that bad. That is absurd and when the authorities wont act, we most certainly will, Frank-Hugo Storelv, leader of Neptune Network tell us.

As for the Buddy EV used in the action, it´s probably the first EV seen in this isolated place of Norway, only a couple of miles from the Russian border: google maps link
