Electric A!D

EV news for the enthusiast by the enthusiasts

We all kind of knew the day was coming and today its for real. Think has declared bankruptcy and th company that made us found electricaid.org in the first place will be dismantled in the norwegian courts in the days ahead.

Think has had a difficult life from the start over 20 years ago. With many crisis averted and another bankruptcy in the past this will probably mean the end no matter what happens in the court. New investors could take over the estate and IP but it is limited how much insecurity the talented engineers and other non-management staff can take over the years, and I guess you can says that it is too many ghost in the walls of the Think-HQ in Oslo for it to ever function properly again.

So with that I would like to raise my glass and offer a salute to Think. The pioneer-phase of the EV movement had never been the same without you.

For those of you who are unaware I am a very experienced Adult Vocational Educator  (now retired) amd my name (Above) is my web page domain too just do not include the spaces (looks like this:)   http://www.dennisleemiles.com/  and those two pages link at the end to my 8 page mini-business plan and that might be interesting. I of course leave some points out when publishing but I have solved all the opening and operating problems and it is feasable. EV service will be needed in about 5 years but conversions make good money today, I can convert a NICE car and sell it for my investment plus $5,000 profit (at half the price of a leaf or volt) every two weeks with two helpers doing all the work, and pay myself $40,000 as a salary. while never getting my hands very dirty. Make the future happen. There is little competition today!   Regards,  Dennis

Excuse Me I am not intending to be abusive. Think is Bankrupt? Think is being sold off asset by asset? Perhaps that will be its end. But EV are coming, 6,000 sold in the USA in 2011.  Electrics are here to stay. and more are coming, Don't give it up we need to keep the dream alive because it really is in our future (Look at my web page to see a business you could implement in the EV future.)

This is the latest: http://content.usatoday.com/communities/driveon/post/2011/07/think-... in the Elkhart plant. The 3-wheel Triac EV to be assembled in Salinas pulled out; costing Salinas a half million dollars.  EVs will not be loved in this area for a while I suppose!

Excuse me for asking the informed question, because there are two bankropsies, chapter 5 or chapter 11 for businesses, and ch-11 is reorganization, but chapt. 5 is liquidation so they might be simply restructuring the debt in a ch-11 and not go to closed. or go to auction all the factory equipment off with a ch-5.

The Th!nk Open was the one I wanted.  Last month 2 more charging stations in Santa Cruz, CA. had a ribbon cutting and opening.  I think we have 4 or 5 charging stations in our county.  Triac is planned to be built in Salinas, CA, so a 3-wheel Triac EV was here.  Later in the month that plan was stopped.  I don't know why, or if anything is changing at the Indiana Th!nk assembly plant.

To: Dan Ditto, and Others,  Dan, you have been misinformed, there are hundreds of electric rechargig stations in the USA. check the map on the website of the Electric Auto Association or even the website for Coulomb Industries who make EVSE cheaging stations there are electric refueling opprotunities available in hundreds of locations and at thousands of Recreational Vehicle campgrounds also, as we can use the samepower as a large R.V. if we have a simple adaptor connector.

Hard to believe with todays fuel prices and air polution.  There are still no electric refueling stations in the US.
