Last week the Norwegian Minister of Transportation visited a highly secret room at the Buddy factory to have a look at the new Metro Buddy. We where there for the scoop and you can see our film report at the end of the article
The minister was very impressed by what she saw and expressed her happiness over the fact that the Norwegian production of the vehicle is set up for expansion. While highlighting all the consumer incentives for EVs in Norway, the minister was quick to point out "that the most important thing is to have cars available for purchase"
Development Director Jan Otto Reimer in Electric Vehicles Norway who makes the Buddy says that the company is getting a lot of attention from other countries within the E.U in regards to what Norway is doing to promote electric vehicles
- To add incentives for Norwegian production is something that can be interesting for / help the industry and also something that can be interesting for Norway, says the engineer who has developed the vehicle together with the Portuguese Car Institute, CEIIA.
The minister agrees and says that " Now that a lot of other countries are getting ready to ramp up production, it is even more important for Norway charge on to maintain the driver seat, Both in terms of production and incentives"
1 week ago, ElectricAid & Norstart did a series of interviews with Norwegian politicians to highlight the need for better industry incentives to maintain the Norwegain production of EVs after the global financial crisis and we got some positive response from The previous Environmental minister Knut Arild Hareide, the current Minister of Finance Kristin Halvorsen and Parliament rep. Inga M Thorkildsen
- The fact that the Minister of Transportation is shows interest and is meeting with the EV industry and also is speaking their cause is very positive, General Secretary of Norstart Rune Haaland tells us.

Great video Richard , how can these politicans spout all this greenery while funding the
conventional motor manufacturers round the back door !
The new Kewit looks very ,err how can I say, flat ! I do realise that this is to keep costs
down , flat panels and glass are very much cheaper than curved items , however the car
has ended up looking very much like the 1970's "Bond Bug" (wiki it) which was a three
wheeler designed like a wedge of cheese , however it sold very well in England in that
decade !
